Stinky Towels

My laundry is known to get behind every now and then. After washing some towels, I hung them up for my husband and I to use. That next morning we used them and both realized that they smelt really bad - like mildew. I had no idea what to do, but I knew that it was a common problem because I had smelt the same smell on towels at other homes. I searched the internet and found other frustrated women. I was nervous to use bleach on my colored towels, my mom mentioned that I should try using vinegar.

Ingredients

1 Cup(s)White Vinegar

Instructions

  1. My washing machine has a place to put bleach and that is where I put vinegar also. I am not really sure how much I put in there, but I think it is about a cup.
  2. I also use the soak function on the washing machine just to make sure to get the smell all out and sometimes use the extra rinse. :)
  3. Use your usual soap also.

I have always used white distilled vinegar, I am not sure if it makes a difference.

Good to know! When a rag is really offensive, I am known to throw it out. Love the earth friendly alternative.

Do this all the time... vinegar is good for way too many things to list, but smell eradication is up at the top. You can just run the 'clean' stinky stuff through your regular cycle with vinegar and no detergent if you want. It should work like a charm without the extra rinsing.
