Clogged Shower Drain

Our shower drain began to get stopped up. We thought it was because of all of my hair and began to use all of the different drain openers available. Nothing was working. We took off the drain cover and found a ton of white cement-like build up. Again.... Mom to the rescue and again with Vinegar. Now there is still some build up, so I plan on trying this over once I get more Vinegar. But it is nice to have the shower back. If anyone knows of any other suggestions I would love to hear it.

Ingredients

1/2 Gallon(s)Vinegar

Instructions

  1. I am not really sure how much you need but I poured the rest of my bottle of vinegar into the drain because I was so desparate for something to work. I chipped away at the build up
  2. 20 Min. later I followed it up with a tea pot full of boiling water - I am not really sure why, just following my mom's instructions.

After the baking soda and vinegar volcano, flush it down with boiling or very hot water.

Hey, you can also throw some baking soda down the drain before you wash it down with the vinegar (about a handful of baking soda + a cup of vinegar). They react and eat up some gunk.
