We almost used a RMcDH when my daughter had heart surgery but we ended up staying in her hospital room with her the whole time. This is also a great place to volunteer--I've helped prepare meals for a local RMcDH with my Junior League chapter. As a mom whose baby has had surgery, I thank anyone who helps make life easier and a little more normal for parents of children seeking treatment.

My hope is that you never have the need to stay at the Ronald McDonald House, but for those of us that have, it is incredible.  A home full of loving and caring people who are there because they too have a sick child.  Everyone pitches in to ensure your stay is as comfortable as it can be.  They ask for nothing in return - except that you clean up after yourself ... and $15.00 per night if you can afford it.

In addition to donating a little something each time you visit McDonald's, you can help by dropping off things like unused hotel shampoo and soaps, food, DVD's, laundry soaps... anything you would use while traveling.
