Apple Oatmeal Crisp

This was EASY and great!! Not too sweet or rich! I love apple crisps with oats!! :)

3 Cup(s)Cut up apples - I used Cameo and a little more than 3 cups
1/4 Cup(s)Sugar
2 Teaspoon(s)Cinnamon - I used heaping teaspoons
1 Cup(s)Packed Brown Sugar
1 Cup(s)Rolled Oats - I used heaping cup+
1/2 Cup(s)plus 2 tbls Butter
1 Cup(s)White Whole Wheat Flour
Extra Butter


  1. Grease pan with butter. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, oats, flour and butter. Mix until crumbly. Since I added more oats I added the extra 2 Tbls Butter.
  3. Place 1 cup of crumb mixture in pan.
  4. Shake apples, sugar, and cinnamon in bag. Place in pan.
  5. Top with remaining crumb mixture.
  6. Bake for 40 - 45 min. until golden brown. :)

I tweeted Josh for this recipe last night. :) Thanks for posting it! This looks awesome - the first time I've seen an apple crisp recipe where you put part of the "topping" on the bottom! I will give it a try today.
