40 Weeks and Waiting...

When you will go into labor is always unpredictable (unless your labor in scheduled), although some seem to think they have it all figured out, all 3 of mine were a bit of a surprise! Since there are lots of moms that await that 40 week mark, and see it pass them right by, I thought it would be fun to have this be a place where we share our favorite (or not so favorite) technique that put us into labor.

Category:Stories
Story:Some of the well known labor inducers are: castor oil, pressure points in your hand and ankles, spicy food, pizza, lots of sex, lots of walking, pineapple, stripping the membranes, nipple stimulation....

I was pretty ready for my baby to come by 38 weeks, so when 40 weeks passed by both Josh and I tried just about everything. I have a bad back so walking until I went into labor was out of the question, but I tired most everything else. With my 1st I used castor oil and decided with my 3rd I would NOT use it again (dealing with diarrhea cramps and labor pains at the same time is not a fun thing). I ate spicy food, pizza, a whole pineapple, had lots of sex, Josh pressed so much on my pressure points I thought my hands and ankles should be black and blue, and then on my last Dr. apt. my Dr. stripped the membranes. I then walked myself to the local farmers market - a couple hours later I went into labor :)
